Facts and Figures
Arts Award is a national qualification that supports young people to develop
as artists and arts leaders.
Arts Award is an accredited qualification at three levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold) offered at Levels 1, 2 and 3 on the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework)
and is accredited by Ofqual. Gold carries 35 points.
The award fosters creative, communication and leadership skills and helps to
prepare young people for further education and employment.
Young people can gain their awards through any art form, as creators
of their own work or supporting an arts production.
Training
Skimstone Arts is a Training Agency for the Arts Award and offers courses
for potential Bronze and Silver advisers.
Support
Skimstone Arts have pioneered and championed the Arts Award for the last five years with 100% pass rate for 24 Bronze, 13 Silver, 1 Gold.
Our funded programme by Northern Rock Foundation has enabled us to
work in the Arts Award into all artistic activity. The young artist’s take great pride
in their portfolios.

What’s happening next
Moderation happening at the end of this year for 3 x gold, 3 x silver and 4 Bronze from the current group, all of which face many challenges in their own lives. The Arts Award provides a focus and challenge that recognises their artistic abilities and potential leadership opportunities.
