A freelance visual artist, facilitator and curator. Graduated with a BA in History of Art and an MA in Art Museums and Galleries Education.
Passionate about inspiring creativity in everyone, from all walks of life, as I believe that it is the key to opening up the potential in all. I especially believe that art, in its many forms, can provide a safe zone for those who can feel uncomfortable in mainstream education due to its structure and assessment, to freely express themselves.
My own art work aims to look at combining the idea of ‘high art’ – painting, sculpture – and so-called ‘low art’ – crafts, sewing, etc. The content of each work is heavily inspired by somniatis – dream. I also draw inspiration from the colours of nature and photography is a key medium for me to capture the changing colours.
At Skimstone Arts’ I assist with various aspects of project management and curation with the Young Artist Collective; alongside, delving into a new passion – the world of music – through singing, music theory and piano!
Being able to explore different artforms under the guidance of amazing professional artists – and also, with support from the young artists – I’ve grown confidence in myself and a belief that I can do anything…I don’t think I could have got to that place without the people and the experiences at Skimstone.
