In the Blink of an Eye

In the Blink of an Eye is a film and live performance co-created with participants at St Anthony’s Day Centre. The project uses a social action-inspired artistic process, creating songs, film and poetry that sees the world changing, from an owl’s point of view.

Participants, who are living with dementia, stroke and ageing, had first hand experiences of engaging with live owls, before creating and learning three new songs. Current affairs and the state of the planet are all woven into the film and performance work.

Original poems, lyrics and soundscapes ask us to consider what we value in life, how fast our world can change and its effect on all living things.

Feedback: Hear from the project participants.

Performance: Watch a performance produced during In the Blink of an Eye.

Artwork: Watch the film produced by participants.

Documentary: Go behind the scenes with our short documentary film.

Participant feedback

“This brings us all together and those are our songs and ideas…we are very proud of them.” Participant.

“In the Blink of an Eye film and performance were magnificent. It showed the wonderful experience that people had during the last six months and it was so moving to see how people responded, come alive and participated in the project.” Helen Woods-Waters, Chief Executive, St Anthony of Padua Community Association.
