Jayne Hopkins

Jayne Hopkins

Jayne has over 20 years of experience working in local government.  Around 15 of these have been in health or social care settings.  The emphasis on partnership working in these areas has provided her with experience and knowledge of the public sector, as well as a variety of voluntary and community sector organisations that contribute to improving health, care and wellbeing.

Her particular area of expertise is Community Development, having worked operationally and in the management of staff and programmes aimed at addressing health inequalities within and between communities. Jayne has been the joint partner with Trevor Hopkins in Asset Based Consulting for the past four years.

Jayne’s formal qualifications are from The Open University. She has a BSc (1st Class Hons) in Social Policy and a MA in Social Science.  Both disciplines have provided a theoretical understanding that underpins and reflects the experience she has had through her work. Her MA studies included: Ecology, Justice & Citizenship, Rethinking Social Policy and work on identity, ethnography and discourse analysis. She finds the complex nature of community health and its connections with policy and power a particular interest.
