Scratch Night
As part of the Reaching Out project, professional artists have been collaborating with young people to undertake studio workshop sessions in multiple art forms (visual arts, animation, photography, film, spoken word, music and songwriting). These sessions have led to original collections of new work produced by and with the young people.
The work was showcased at a Scratch Night event on 11 June 2019 at B&D Studios in Newcastle city centre.
This event allowed the young people, artists and the producing team to come together and share their work, take part in taster sessions of creative activities and take part in creative planning activities to design future Reaching Out events.
The event included:
- mini taster activities run by associate artists
- creative planning activities
- sharing of some of the work that was created during the sessions
- meeting other young people and artists involved in the project
Participant feedback:
“Today I have liked the print making and showing everyone our music video and film about Blakelaw. I liked watching everyone experience the art stuff.”
“I enjoyed thinking about our event. It was fun! It was amazing!”
