Produced: 2009
First performance: 69 Westgate Road
Commission / Funders: Newcastle Arts Centre Trust Ltd

Random members of the public on Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne were invited to wear a pair of angel wings and consider being an angel for two minutes. How would they affect today’s world? What influence would they have? All responses were woven alongside each still image of the winged human – ‘angel’, into the final film which was projected in a shop window on Westgate Road.

The film also includes wing and feather video studies, of varying durations, which have been filmed in different locations around Newcastle including the Castle Keep and Robert Stephenson Trust Museum. Time is suspended through slow and deliberate meditations on minute frond movements.
