Lovefear video screen and live performance project which explored our experiences about ourselves, our worlds around us, things we love, our fears and hopes, dreams and realities. These themes related to how we express our responses to learning about life in the worlds of school, home and beyond. A place of safelty and experimentation was established at The Hub, the community wing of Westgate Road Baptist Church where participants were able to discuss and express their thoughts about what scares them, how they feel about friendships(a major issue for all children), bullying,
why they don’t want to go to school etc through the medium of performance, sound and image e.g recording thoughts individually or in small groups telling stories behind a screen, how sounds that we hear and create can make us feel etc. Final piece consisted of eight video chapters and live movement and performance interaction, with a unique soundtrack of stories, performed with live instrumentation consisting of a ‘choir of electric guitars’.
